Whenever we need answers to questions that virtually no one can manage to answer, we can only turn to the Bible.
Today we are going to collect the Bible to find out what happens after death, as well as where we go and what happens to our body and soul during it.
For this article, we will base ourselves on verses, psalms and proverbs written in the Bible, which talk about what happens after a soul dies.
What happens after death according to the bible
Jesus said: Father, into your hands I commend my spirit. (Luke 23:46). And after that Jesus died immediately on the cross.
This makes us realize that death is a separation between the soul and the body. With that, whatWhen a person dies, according to the bible, his soul is separated from his body.
According to the Bible, after death happens the separation of body and spirit, the return of the body to dust and the final judgment of our souls.
You are a union of body and spirit. Your body belongs to the earth, and to dust it will return. But his spirit continues forever until the day of judgment.
1. Our souls will be in deep sleep
The prophets mention that the righteous immediately go to heaven or sinners go to hell when they die.
The Bible says that death is a deep sleep (Psalm 13:3; John 11:11-14; Acts 7:60). As long as the person is dead, he will not know that he is dead. You will be in deep sleep.
The Bible teaches that God can awaken and resurrect them (Ho 14:13-15). For those whom God resurrects, death will not be the end of life.
2. Our body returns to dust
When Adam disobeyed, God told him, “Dust you are and to dust you shall return” (Genesis 3:19). And when Adam died, he returned to the dust that is on the earth.
The Bible explains, “They all came from the dust, and they will all return to dust” (Ecclesiastes 3:19, 20). Which reinforces what we said at the beginning, that the soul separates from the body.
3. We await the final judgment
The Bible says that all who died, both the good and the bad. And that everyone will be resurrected in one of two resurrections.
The good will rise at the second coming of Jesus. “For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first” (1 Thessalonians 4:16, NKJV).
According to this verse, good people do not go to heaven when they die. They remain asleep in the grave until Jesus returns and resurrects them to immortal life (see 1 Corinthians 15:50-57).
Sinners will be raised in a separate resurrection which is that of condemnation. That is, that's where some go to heaven and others go to hell.
Jesus said, “Don't marvel at this; For the hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice and come out: those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of damnation” (John 5: 28, 29, NKJV).
It is important to remember that there is no exact answer to this question. For the Bible does not give an exact and direct answer.
We just based ourselves on several scriptures Verses and what other sites say about this phenomenon that is the death of a person.
