There are numerous verses in the Bible that speak of the missionary experience. There are many reasons why you might be looking for a collection of passages about missions.

Perhaps you are a support church looking for biblical instructions to pray for your missionaries. Perhaps you are a parent or friend of a struggling missionary looking for biblical encouragement to send. Perhaps you are a missionary and simply need to hear from the Lord through his word.

Fortunately, whatever God calls us to do, he provides the means to do so. Just as God calls missionaries, he speaks to them throughout Scripture.

In this post, it is our goal to unpack collections of Bible verses relevant to missionaries to encourage, enlighten, strengthen, and inspire gospel workers in all cultures sent by the church in all ages.

Jesus' final command to his disciples in the Bible was to “go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19). As believers, we are called to spread the word of God throughout the world – whether outside our door or across the world. Use this collection of Bible verses to discuss the call to missions in your conversations, sermons, worship, work, and service.

Isaiah 6:8
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here I am. Send me!"

2 Timothy 2:2
And the things which you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses, entrust to trustworthy persons, who will also be qualified to teach others.

Acts 13:47
For thus has the Lord commanded us: "I have made you a light to the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth."
