WhatsApp is working on a new “stealth mode” that hides your online status. This feature will allow users to scroll through the app without their friends or contacts knowing.

Stealth Mode will be enabled in the Privacy section of Settings, directly under the feature that allows you to hide 'Last seen' from other users.

The WABetaInfo team spotted this feature in the iOS beta, but claims it will also be available for Android and desktop.

The WABetaInfo team wrote in a blog post: 'Unfortunately, this feature is under development, so we don't know any details on when it will be released to the public.

WhatsApp launched another feature last month that lets users take their message history with them when they switch from Android to iPhone.

Previously, it was only possible to transfer WhatsApp data from Apple devices to Google's Android platform.
